Senior People Operations Manager (m/f/d)

we believe the greatest gift to frontline workers is time - time to care, connect, and be present. Today, that time is lost to busywork and complex systems that pull them away from what matters most: people. Our vision is to change that by building AI companions that seamlessly take over digital workflows. We don't replace humans with technology - we amplify their impact. Our mission is backed with a $50M Series A funding led by Balderton Capital, with support from HV Capital, Y Combinator and other leading VCs. Today, 2,000+ facilities trust voize, and over 200,000 users rely on our AI companion to ease their daily workload. As a dynamic team, we combine first-in-class technology with meaningful social impact. And now, we’re looking for you to join us on this mission! 💡 Your Mission: Build the People Ops function voize will run on As Senior People Operations Manager, you’ll own People Operations at voize - and build the function from the ground up. This is our first dedicated People Ops role, so there’s no legacy setup to inherit and no standard playbook to follow. Instead, you’ll have the space to design how People Ops should work at a modern, fast-growing company: automated where it can be, self-service where it should be, and scalable enough to still work when we’ve doubled in size. We build AI that gives nurses more time for what matters. Your job is to bring that same mindset to our People function - cutting admin, removing friction, and creating an employee experience that sets the standard for how modern companies should operate. 🚀 What You'll Own - the mandate in detail Own the employee lifecycle end to end: Onboarding to offboarding with the mandate to redesign how it works, not just run it.Be the trusted point of contact: Own the people topics that need judgment and discretion - and build the self-service, automation and agents that make routine questions disappear.Build a first-class People Ops foundation: Modern, AI-native processes, clear ownership and documentation, and a seamless employee experience from day one.Automate what shouldn’t be manual: Build a reliable source of truth and the workflows and AI agents around it - so documents, deadlines, data checks and repetitive admin run without human intervention.Make us global-ready: Entity vs. EOR decisions, global payroll architecture and local employment compliance across every market we operate in - with audit-proof documentation the whole way. 🤝 Your Skillset – What you bring to the table You've scaled People Ops before: Several years of ownership in a fast-growing tech company, and you know from experience which processes break at which headcount.German payroll and employment law are your home turf: Payroll preparation, contracts, statutory deadlines and audit topics - you work at this level of detail without needing a lawyer for every question. You've worked beyond Germany: Multi-country People Ops: entities, EOR, global payroll, local employment law. You've done at least one market entry and know where it gets expensive. US experience is a strong plus. You're AI-first, like us: We work AI-first and expect the same from you: you build your own automations and agents. When you see a repetitive process, your instinct is to remove it, not to staff it.You're a builder, not a caretaker: You've insourced, migrated or rebuilt a function before, you write documentation people actually use, and you'd rather own an ambiguous mandate than a tidy job .You are fluent German (C1+) and English. 🌱 Growing together – what you can expect at voize We are a fast-growing startup, that means you will tackle challenges, grow quickly, and make a real impact, giving healthcare professionals more time for real patient careWe foster an open, collaborative culture with regular team events, whether you work from our Berlin office or remotely from GermanyBecome a co-creator of our success with stock optionsGenerous perks 30 vacation days plus your birthday off, Germany Transport Ticket, Urban Sports Club, regular company off-sites, and access to learning platforms such as Blinkist and Audible You decide when you work best, that means flexible working hours and a good hybrid set-up ✨ Ready to talk? ! 🚀 The people who thrive in this role want real ownership. You’d rather write the playbook than follow one, and you’re equally comfortable designing the operating model and getting into the details that make it work. You move fast, adapt quickly and see changing priorities as a chance to build the next, better version. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
