Senior/Staff Software Engineer - Moonpay Enterprise

. This isn't a "work on cool crypto stuff" company. It's a high-standards, high-velocity, high-accountability company building the operating system for value movement. If the internet moves information, we move value: crypto, stablecoins, tokenized assets, and whatever comes next. Four offerings make that real: fund, tokenize, trade, and spend. MoonPay Enterprise is the fund layer built for businesses. We power how stablecoins move through real financial operations: enterprises, fintechs, PSPs, wallets, and marketplaces running their treasuries, their cross-border flows, and their stablecoin operations on us. The goal is to make moving real money at scale as predictable as any other piece of financial infrastructure, with the compliance and controls CFOs need to say yes. AI is the default operating mode here. It's woven into every role, and we expect you to use it daily. It handles the manual work so you can deliver on what actually matters. You'll thrive here if outcomes excite you more than process, if impact motivates you more than titles, and if you want hard problems, real ownership, and teammates who love winning, building, and doing it together. The bar is high. The pace is real. We're building the rails that businesses run real money on, for humans and agents. MoonPay ranked #2 in Crypto Services on Fortune's inaugural Crypto 100, made Forbes' America's Best Startup Employers 2026 (Top 25 in Finance), and landed on The Sunday Times Best Places to Work two years running. The role We’re hiring backend engineers across several openings within MoonPay Enterprise. All roles the same foundation of designing and operating reliable, secure, high-throughput backend services, but each opening has a distinct focus. When you apply, tell us which track (or tracks) excites you most. Track 1: KYB / KYC & Compliance Platform Build the systems that let enterprises onboard safely and stay compliant across dozens of jurisdictions. You’ll own services powering (KYB) and individual (KYC) verification flows, risk scoring, sanctions and AML screening, case management, and integrations with identity and compliance vendors. The challenge is making rigorous compliance feel invisible: fast, automated, and globally scalable, without ever compromising on regulatory obligations. Track 2: New Product Lines, starting with Custody Join us at the ground floor of new enterprise products, beginning with Custody. You’ll design the backend for secure digital asset storage and management for institutional clients: key management workflows, policy engines, transaction authorization, ledger integrity, and audit trails. This track suits engineers who love ambiguity, greenfield architecture, and building products from zero to one with enterprise-grade security requirements. Track 3: Blockchain, Stablecoin Issuance & On-Chain Infrastructure Work directly with blockchain protocols to power our stablecoin issuance and on-chain products. You’ll build and operate services for minting, burning, and managing fully reserved stablecoins across chains, develop smart contract integrations on EVM chains and Solana, and design the indexing, monitoring, and reconciliation systems that keep on-chain and off-chain state in sync. Prior Solana (Rust) or Solidity development experience is a strong plus here. Across all tracks, experience with fiat rails, banking integrations, or systems is very welcome. Much of our hardest work happens where traditional finance and crypto overlap. What you’ll do Design, build, and operate backend services written in Rust that process high volumes of financial transactions with strong guarantees around correctness, idempotency, and auditabilityOwn features end to end, from shaping the product spec through technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production monitoring. You won’t just receive work from product: as a domain expert, you’ll help define what we build and propose the work you consider most usefulIntegrate with external partners such as banks, payment processors, blockchains, and identity and compliance vendors, and build the abstractions that make those integrations reliableImprove engineering quality across observability, incident response, security practices, and API designCollaborate closely with product, compliance, and other engineering teams across MoonPay’s global network(Staff level) Set technical direction for your area, mentor other engineers, and drive architectural decisions that span multiple teams About you 5+ years of backend engineering experience (8+ for Staff), with a track record of shipping and operating production systems at scaleStrong backend experience with a statically compiled language (e.g. Rust, Go, C#, C++) is a must. Deep fundamentals matter more to us than your specific language historyPrior professional Rust experience is not required, but interest in Rust and motivation to become an expert in it are very welcome, since our services are written in RustSolid fundamentals in distributed systems, API design, data modeling, and asynchronous processingComfort working in domains where precision matters, such as financial systems, double-entry ledgers, reconciliation, or similarly correctness-critical softwareA pragmatic, autonomous, ownership-driven mindset. You care about outcomes, communicate clearly, and thrive on high throughput: on this team, features ship in hours to days and products in days to weeksStrong critical thinking, including in how you use AI tools. You know how to drive AI-assisted development productively while staying firmly in control of correctness, security, and design qualityInterest in crypto, stablecoins, and the future of . Prior crypto experience is a plus rather than a requirement, except for Track 3, where hands-on blockchain development experience is expected Bonus points Professional or hobby experience writing Rust (open-source contributions count!)Experience in fiat , banking integrations, card networks, or PSPsFamiliarity with KYC/KYB, AML, sanctions screening, or regulated financial products (Track 1)Background in custody, key management (MPC/HSM), or institutional-grade security (Track 2)Smart contract development in Solidity (EVM) or Rust (Solana), and experience with on-chain indexing or node infrastructure (Track 3)Experience working in regulated, multi-jurisdiction environments How we work MoonPay Enterprise operates like a startup inside a scale-up: small, senior, high-throughput teams with real ownership, direct access to customers and decision-makers, and the backing of MoonPay’s global licenses, banking relationships, and distribution network. We move fast and expect engineers to act as product owners for their domain, not just implementers.
