Product Designer (m/f/x)

m how organizations order, access, and analyze Earth observation data. Our platform brings together the world’s leading geospatial providers, and offers a single touchpoint to access, manage, and process data at scale. From vegetation management and infrastructure monitoring to disaster response, UP42 helps organizations across industries find solutions to complex problems through Earth observation. Our expert support team and detailed documentation guide our users through every step. Since July 2025, UP42 has been a part of Neo Space Group. We are looking for a Product Designer (m/f/x) to join our Design Team in Berlin. You will be the design partner for one of our product teams, working alongside a Product Manager and engineers to take work from an early idea through to something people use. You will own your projects, hold a high quality bar on complex, data-rich interfaces, and work inside a design system you help keep healthy. You will enjoy this role if you want real ownership of a product area without carrying a whole platform, and if you like going deep into a genuinely complex domain. Our team is complementary, so your work is visible and the feedback loop is short. What you will do: Take design work from an early idea through to delivery, proposing solutions to blockers rather than only reporting them.Be the reliable design partner for your product team: the person your PM and engineers come to first.Design for complexity: dense data tables, long-running processes, and workflows where the edge cases matter as much as the main path.Look for evidence before you design: talk to users, read what support and sales already know, look at how the product is actually used, and run tests on your own work.Push to understand the problem before designing a solution, and say so when a brief arrives already shaped as one.Scope your own features, break them into pieces, be roughly right about how long they will take, and delays early with a plan B rather than a warning.Contribute to our design system, as everyone on our team does: propose and build components, not only use them.your work cross-functionally, take feedback, and iterate; notice improvements inside your area and act on them, instead of waiting to be asked. Here is a good summary of what we are looking for: Experience delivering product design work end-to-end inside a cross-functional team.Solid interaction (IxD) and visual/UI design skills, with the ability to make complex data and workflows understandable.Strong Figma skills, and a working understanding of how a design system is actually built: how a component is structured, how it behaves, and the rules it has to respect. You will be a contributor to ours, not only a user of it.Experience using research and product evidence to make design decisions: usability tests, customer conversations, support tickets, product data. We are not looking for one particular method.Comfortable telling the difference between what we know and what we are assuming, and willing to say which is which.Comfortable with ambiguity: able to make progress when the picture is still incomplete, and to adjust when what you learn changes the direction.Able to scope your own work and communicate honestly about time, collaborative, feedback-driven, and proactive about the problems you can see.Fluent in English and based in Berlin with hybrid work capability. Bonus points if you bring: Experience designing geospatial, enterprise, or data-heavy B2B products. Background in UX research, data visualization, or complex workflow design.Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design.Experience with interactive prototyping.Awareness of current AI tools and emerging opportunities in UX processes, with an understanding of how AI can enhance user outcomes without adding unnecessary complexity. Let us tell you why UP42 is a good choice: Let’s disrupt the industry: You get the chance to shape the state-of-the-art geospatial processing platform and create a completely new planetary perspectiveLet’s stay flexible: We practice a hybrid working model - you can choose when to work from the comfort of your home or join your colleagues in our modern office in the heart of Kreuzberg, or even from a global of your choice up to 90 days per yearLet’s win as a team: We’re an inspiring international team working in a fun and productive environmentLet’s be fair: We offer a competitive salary package and other perks such as wellbeing initiatives, sponsored fitness subscriptions, an educational budget for your personal development and public transportation discount - just to name a fewLet’s enjoy the good side of life: Gather in regular team events as well as our global company parties twice a yearLet’s think outside of the box: There are challenges and enough space for creativity and taking ownership Does this sound like a good next step into your geospatial career?
